Synopsis:
First brought to the big screen in 1954 by Audrey Hepburn and Humphrey Bogart, Samuel Taylor's play "Sabrina Fair" is a lively comedy of manners, set on Long Island in the 1950s. The daughter of the Larrabee family's chauffeur, Sabrina Fairchild has recently returned from Paris as a sophisticated, bright young woman to see if she still has a crush on the younger Larrabee son, David. Carefree, thrice-married David is taken with the transformed young woman, but the situation is complicated by David's older brother Linus, a cynical but good-natured tycoon who controls the family business, and the appearance of a wealthy Frenchman Sabrina has known in Paris. When it was originally produced, the New York Times called it "a modern version of the Cinderella fable," and "a remarkably pleasant piece of theater… Mr. Taylor writes in a sparkling daze of incredulity and satire."
