One of my fondest memories at Jackson Theatre Guild is working on The Secret Garden in 2001 with my dad, Don Mitchell. He was in the show as Major Shelley, and I worked backstage, soaking in every moment. Dad absolutely adored the music and the entire cast- The Secret Garden quickly became one of his favorite productions.
Now, years later, I hold those memories even closer to my heart. My dad passed away a few years ago, but every time I hear that beautiful score, I’m transported back to those rehearsals, the backstage moments, and the joy of sharing the magic of theatre with him.
Theatre has a way of weaving its way into our lives, creating connections and memories that last forever. I’ll always be grateful for that time we had together at JTG.
